On an uneven base covered with plastic flowers and leaves, a loving couple sits embracing each other in front of a rocaille-style trellis, surrounded by delicately applied floral vines. The woman is dressed in a white gown with a floral pattern and gold trim, and she wears a lace bonnet, while the young man is attired in a pink coat over a white waistcoat adorned with gold. A pug with a red collar frolics at their feet. The polychrome painting is accented with gold highlights. This may be a work by Johann Joachim Kändler, circa 1745. Minor restorations/chips; height 19 cm. Cf. Rickert, catalog of the Bavarian National Museum, no. 882; Collensperger, Burd Collection, no. 8. A porcelain figurine group of a loving couple with a pug, attributed to J.J. Kändler. Slightly restored/with chips. Meissen, circa 1745-1750.
