Description

On an uneven base, covered with plastic flowers and leaves, sits a loving couple embracing each other in front of a Rococo-style lattice trellis, surrounded by finely applied floral vines. The woman is dressed in a white dress with a floral pattern and gold trim, and wears a lace bonnet, while the young man is dressed in a pink suit over a white, gold-decorated waistcoat. At their feet, a pug with a red tie jumps up. The polychrome painting is adorned with gold accents. Possibly a work by Johann Joachim Kändler, around 1745. Minor restoration work/chips; height 19 cm.
