LARGE PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A BASHKIR from the Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory, Moscow, circa 1894. A realistically modeled figure of a man, dressed in a long blue coat and a trimmed red hat with yellow trim, leaning with his left hand on the hilt of a sword and standing on a round naturalistic base with the inscription in Cyrillic "Башкир", marked on the underside with impressed Cyrillic "Гарднер" and the Moscow coat of arms and the number "317", also bearing a reddish-brown stamped mark of the Kuznetsov factory and a pencil inscription "317". Height 11¼ inches (28.8 cm).
