The Volkstedt porcelain manufactory is the oldest factory in Thuringia, founded on September 8, 1760, in Rudolstadt by Georg Heinrich Macheleid. Throughout its long history, the manufactory changed owners several times, closed and reopened. Today, it is part of the VEB Vereinigte Zierporzellanwerke Lichte concern. Throughout its entire existence, up to the present day, porcelain produced at this factory is especially revered in European countries and among porcelain collector circles, especially exquisite items are still considered to be fully handmade porcelain figurines, each piece is absolutely unique, executed with great skill and impeccable taste.
