Description

Porcelain. Rectangular, straight body. Scenes in the style of Watteau in a park are depicted on the wall and the slightly curved loop of the lid. On the inner side of the lid, in a lavish setting, a lady is seated with a bird in a cage. The base features an image of commercial activity in an iron-red leaf-shaped cartouche. Polychrome painting. The inner wall is gilded. Floral ornament, gilded brackets, height 4.5 cm. Dimensions 8 cm x 6 cm. See the Hetjens Museum Catalogue in Düsseldorf, number 229. Box with Watteau scenes. Meissen.
