A rectangular, slightly curved body. Various scenes depicting nude courtly figures by Watteau in a landscape park. The inner lid features an erotic scene in stipple technique. Beautiful polychrome painting. Polished gilt interior wall lining. The lid has carved floral patterns, metal, with an octagonal porcelain plaque inserted and surrounded by malachite cabochons. In minimal condition; height 4 cm, 7.5 cm x 6 cm. A metal and porcelain snuff box with Watteau scenes and erotic motifs. Minor chips. Meissen. Circa 1750.
