Description

On the surface of an oval pedestal, partially covered with a lion’s fur, sits Omphale with a golden bracelet on her arm. Her right hand rests on a long club, while her left holds a strand of her long wavy hair. Polychrome painting with golden accents. Possibly the work of Ludwig Schwanthaler, 1882–1885. Model number N 108. Sword mark. Height 19 cm. Provenance: from the collection of a significant North German private collector. Mythological porcelain figure of Omphale with lion’s fur and club.
