(1803 Flensburg - 1870 Altona) Captain's portrait "Alida led by Capt: H. A. Klein." Original title Ship portrait of the three-masted bark under Hamburg flag, with shipping company flag "W" and another flag with number "145". Lorenz Petersen, son of a seaman, was active in Altona since 1830, where he created numerous ship portraits for captains, owners, and shipowners. Until 1858, Peter Petersen painted his marine paintings alone, from 1858 to 1869 with his half-brother Peter Christian Holm (1823-1888). Oil on canvas, laid down on masonite, signed and dated 1848. 47 cm x 64 cm. Framed.
