(1819 Fredrikshald - 1867 Eidsberg) Fighting roosters in a stable with a hen, chicks, and a dove. Delicately painted work by the Norwegian artist, who primarily painted animal representations, as well as still lifes and landscapes. Printz studied at the Academy in Copenhagen since 1845, where he exhibited multiple times in Charlottenborg from 1846 to 1852. In 1853, he went to study at the Düsseldorf Academy under Wilhelm Preyer before returning to Norway. He was particularly gifted in the representation of birds. The National Gallery in Oslo owns, among others, the painting "The Fox in the Henhouse" from 1860. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1858. 53 cm x 65.5 cm. Framed.
