This delicately executed snapshot captures the essence of spring, with its fragrant and airy atmosphere. Veith, a student of Ferdinand Laufberger who completed his training in Paris, has been a member of the Vienna Künstlerhaus since 1890 and later taught at the renowned School of Applied Arts, where he was appointed as a full professor in 1920. In 1896, Veith received a gold medal at the International Art Exhibition in Berlin. Watercolour and whitening on paper, laid down on cardboard. Signed and dated 14.5.1917. Inscribed with title and location Augsburg on the reverse. Sheet measures 18 cm x 25.2 cm. Cardboard measures 19.4 cm x 26.5 cm. Framed.
