Moulin de la Galette: a view of Montmartre

(1883 Paris - 1955 Dax) Paris - View with a glimpse of the Moulin de la Galette in the artist quarter of Montmartre. Captured with few, swift strokes, Utrillo's vedute depicts in the background the Basilica Sacré-Cœur. Alongside Utrillo, who often portrayed the Moulin de la Galette and Montmartre, other significant artists such as Vincent van Gogh immortalized the old mill. Pencil on paper. Signed. Minor restoration above the mill, light toning to the lower margin. 22 cm x 16 cm. Framed.
