In the style of Karl Fabergé, this piece is a rectangular frame with three oval picture cutouts. The wider frame is made of malachite with a marbled appearance, intricately worked and adorned with appliquéd garlands of gilded brass flowers. The central picture cutout is located below a crown and embellished with a bow and leaf motif. The narrow, profiled frame is surrounded by reliefed pearl and braid bands. The central crowning feature takes the form of a cartouche, flanked by intricately worked bows and laurel branches. Above it sits a small bird on a burning torch and a quiver filled with arrows. The piece is adjustable on the reverse. The dimensions of the frame are 39 cm x 27 cm, while the picture cutout measures 7 cm x 9 cm. Provenance: From the collection of Igor Schleicher, Cologne.
