Luxurious and very stylish, this set of six wine glasses comes in its original packaging, featuring colorful inlaid crystal. They are 100% handmade and belong to the famous "RAWENNA" series by the renowned German manufacturer NACHTMANN from the 1970s. The NACHTMANN factory was founded by Michael Nachtmann in Bavaria in 1834. In the early 20th century, the factory workshops moved to Neustadt, where they are still located today. In the 1960s and 1970s, NACHTMANN became the largest producer of high-quality crystal in Germany. For a long time, the NACHTMANN corporation included several subsidiary companies such as "Marc Aurel," "Katharinen Hutte," and "Spiegelau." The products of these factories were known for their design and low lead oxide content in the crystal. In the early 2000s, the range of products became significantly reduced. The factory shifted to more economical forms, and interesting positions were discontinued one by one. In 2004, Riedel Glas acquired the shares of Nachtmann Cristal AG. Although the factory continues to operate to this day, it has not been able to return to producing the same items it made during its peak period. Therefore, any products manufactured by the NACHTMANN factory in the 1960s and 1970s, especially those of high quality and preservation, automatically become objects of special attention for collectors and crystal connoisseurs, whose value increases every year.
The set of six wine glasses presented here belongs to this period. The "RAWENNA" series is one of the most exquisite and deserving. Despite its classic style, these items are so versatile that they easily and effortlessly fit into any table setting, whether it be "hi-tech" or palace classic. They are magnificent and graceful, made of high-quality lead crystal with a lead oxide content of no less than 24% (PbO 24% - the world standard). This lead oxide content enhances the refraction, allowing the crystal to shimmer like precious stones in the sun.
The superb work of German craftsmen, exquisite design, and the highest quality of engraved patterns make these glasses a worthy decoration for any table. They will attract admiring glances from those around and bring a lot of positive emotions when used.
