Rectangular, slightly curved body with flattened edges. The walls are surrounded on all sides by purple-staffed rocaille cartouches in relief. Within them are colored representations of feathered game in front of architectural landscapes in polychrome painting, likely by C.G. Alberti, active around 1767-1772. The interior lid is framed by an oval, gold-engraved floral wreath medallion. Within it sits a noble lady, observing an open box with extreme delicacy. The motif is based on Meissen models. Partial interior gilding. Rest-gilded, profiled silver mounting with protruding, shell-relief thumbpiece. H. 4.5 cm. 8 cm x 6 cm. A comparable example in terms of form with flower decor from 1759 can be found in the Reichmann collection in the Fürstenberg Museum. See Beaucamp-Markowsky, Catalogue of Porcelain Boxes, No. 231, 50; Ducret, Fürstenberger Porcelain, Vol. II, Fig. 64f., p. 68; Jedding, European Porcelain, p. II/2; Exhibition "Ey! wie schmeckt," No. 47. A gilt silver-mounted German porcelain snuff box with finely painted decor of poultry, probably by C.G. Alberti. Fürstenberg, around 1760-1770.
