"Tomorrow Was the War" is a Soviet film based on the novella of the same name by Boris Vasilyev, the graduation project of VGIK graduate Yuri Kara. The film's budget was only 50,000 rubles, and the actors worked for free. The film was awarded the A. Dovzhenko Gold Medal "For the Best Military-Patriotic Film," and also received top prizes at international film festivals in Spain, France, Germany, and Poland.
