Description

Renault advertising poster dedicated to the races at Montlhéry. [S.l.]: [1934?]. 33.5 × 25.5 cm. Mounted on a mat. Foxing, good condition. The Montlhéry autodrome is located to the southwest of the small town of Montlhéry, approximately 30 km (19 miles) south of Paris. The first race there, the 1925 French Grand Prix, took place on July 26, 1925, and was organized by the Automobile Club of the French Grand Prix. It was a race in which Robert Benoist won in a Delage; Antonio Ascari died in an Alfa Romeo P2. The Grand Prix revisited the track in 1927 and annually from 1931 to 1937.
