Heinrich Friedrich Füger arrived at the imperial court in Vienna in 1774. There, he created a large number of portraits of nobility and figures from politics and society. His works can be found, among other places, in the Albertina in Vienna and in the National Gallery in Berlin. The portrait of the archduchess corresponds to the depiction of materiality and hair in Füger's technique with silver highlights and bears a resemblance to the 1784 painting by I.B. Lampi in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. See Robert Keil, WV No. 162 ff.; Schidlof, Vol. I, pp. 273 ff.
