A very finely crafted and historically significant Biedermeier portrait of the countess, seated in the classical salon of a neoclassical palace. Oil on card. There is a note on the reverse side: "Lottum." 37 cm x 31 cm. Framed. Clotilde, daughter of Wilhelm Malte I, Prince of Putbus, married Friedrich von Wylich und Lottum in 1828, whose son became Wilhelm Malte II, Prince of Putbus, in 1854. In 1859, Franz Xaver Winterhalter created a famous painting of the countess. German portraitist, active in the 19th century.
