

(1817 Hamburg – 1891 Munich) Moonlight over Lake Chiemsee. A nocturnal view of Lake Chiemsee in the bright radiance of a full moon, reflected on the water. In the foreground, a boat with figures; in the middle ground, a burning bonfire on the right bank. This artistically outstanding painting was created by a talented artist who studied at the Munich Academy, whose work is characterized by atmospheric, romantic moonlit landscapes. In 1840, he became a member of the Munich Art Society and began participating in its art exhibitions. Oil on canvas, double-layered; signed with a monogram and dated 1882. Dimensions: 31.5 cm x 63 cm. Framed.
