(1872 Vienna - 1949 ibid.) A forest path with a side chapel, a peasant woman and a goat in a sunny meadow. This early work by Weber captures the play of light, a characteristic feature of his art. Weber, who studied at the Vienna Academy and regularly exhibited at the Vienna Art House, settled in Spitz on the Danube around 1900, then in Stein on the Danube in 1921, and finally in Krems on the Danube in 1933. His oeuvre includes Austrian and Italian landscape motifs, including those from the Wachau region. Watercolor and gouache on paper, laid down on cardboard. Signed and dated 1899. Dimensions: 39.5 cm x 26 cm. Framed.
