Description

(1821 Vienna - 1895 Perchtoldsdorf) Portrait of a Small Child with a Basket of Flowers. This sensitive late Biedermeier canvas depicts a child sitting on a patch of lawn. Taibler specialized in portrait painting from the very beginning. From 1835 to 1841, he was a student of the portrait painter and porcelain artist Josef Kiesling. In addition, from 1837 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under the guidance of Karl Gsellhofer, Anton Petter, Leopold Kupelwieser, and Johann Ender. Oil on canvas; signed and dated 1851. Dimensions: 62 cm x 50 cm. Framed.
