(1839 Munich – 1915 same place) Feeding geese under a fragrant cloudy sky on the lakeshore. A farmer fills the feeders for his geese, who immediately begin to peck and flap their wings, diving for the grain. This landscape sketch by Poschinger is executed in bright colors and with striking lighting, specializing in landscapes of the idyllic foothill region of Bavaria. Among his favorite motifs are scenes along the shores of Lake Starnberg, the Easter Lakes, or Lake Chiemsee, which he often brings to life with local fishermen, farmers, or animals. The famous artist of the Munich School, who studied under Adolf Lier, masterfully conveys the softness and tranquility of the lake landscapes of Upper Bavaria in his early impressionist plein air painting. Oil on wooden panel. Signed. 45 cm x 59 cm. Framed.
