(1844 Warnkenhagen – 1924 Berlin) Dogs in Front of the Fireplace: A characteristic painting by a renowned painter specialized in vivid depictions of horses and dogs after training at the Dresden and Berlin Academies under Karl Steffeck and Paul Friedrich Meyerheim. In 1893, he himself became a professor.
