"Etska: a person who draws with casting"

(1606 Leiden – 1669 Amsterdam) "Man Drawing from a Model" (Man Drawing from a Cast). Original title Etching / Paper with overlay, circa 1641. On the reverse side there is a handwritten annotation dated 1842 (presumably a reference to a collection). III. State (according to Hollstein) with alterations (not by Rembrandt), including on the forehead of the bust, the artist's cheek, and the former white area between the candle and the book.
