Description

Silver. On a flat base is a body with a deep conical spout and a strongly convex belly. The outline is executed in the form of smooth vertical lines running around the body. The lid has a convex curve, matching the shape, with an elliptical baluster. The handle is made of delicate wood. Author, master Rintius de Grave (active from around 1767), probably Dutch hallmark. Weight about 400 g. Height 16.5 cm. See Scheffler, Lower Saxony, number 18, MZ 1683, as well as Arians, number 236; Rosenberg, volume IV, numbers 7541, 7576. Rare small North German Baroque silver pot by master Rintius de Grave (active from around 1767). Workshop mark and probably Dutch mark. German. East Frisia. Leer. Circa 1770.
