Large Meissen porcelain teapot with a painted house.
Description

Spherical curved spout. Flat lid with a plastic branch instead of a handle. Gilt bronze mount on the swivel handle and along the edges of the mouth with chain-like links and a handle made in the shape of a porcelain branch. Surrounding relief decoration in gold staffage, depicting grapes and wandering ivy. On the body, a bright decorative pattern with shepherdesses playing music in an imaginary landscape. Polychrome painting, probably from the workshop of the artist Franz Ferdinand Mayer-Presnitz. Sword mark. Height 27 cm. Porcelain teapot with gilded bronze handles and polychrome painting in the "Hausmaler" style, probably executed by F.F. Mayer-Presnitz. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Mid-18th century.
