Description

From the Italian comedy, a gilded porcelain figurine of Isabella. Standing on a flat rocaille base, Isabella is dressed in a court costume, with the upper part of her body slightly leaning forward and her head turned to the left. Possibly by Franz Anton Bustelli, 1759/1760. Restored. Factory mark. Height 19.5 cm. See Ziffer, Baumüller Collection Catalogue, number 98; Bavarian National Museum, inventory number Ker 2137. Provenance: The Princely Collection of Thurn and Taxis at St. Emmeram Castle; auctioned at Sotheby’s, Regensburg, 12.05.1993, lot 1932. Porcelain figurine of Isabella from the "Commedia dell'Arte".
