A large figurine depicting the famous female dancer Ruth St. Denis.

On a three-tiered pedestal, an image of the walking dancer Ruth St. Denis in a bare midriff and oriental costume, performing her dance "Radha" ("The Dance of the Five Senses", premiered in 1906). Behind her on the pedestal are two baskets of roses. Polychrome underglaze painting. Model No. 3992, designed around 1911/1912.
Condition: with minor glaze chips. Markings: "Rose", manufacturer's mark with the inscription "Made in Austria"; small press mark with an illegible monogram.
Height 53.5 cm. The famous American dancer Ruth St. Denis (1879-1968) performed her piece "Radha" during her European tour of 1906-1909 to great acclaim, including in Paris, Berlin, and Vienna. Polychrome painting and glazed ceramic.
