(1852 Erding - 1917 Munich) Rural Idyll Charming, finely painted genre painting depicting a young woman in Bavarian costume sitting on tree trunks in front of a farmhouse, surrounded by a girl and a toddler, as well as chickens, a sheep, a lamb, and a dog. Executed in a sensitive and nuanced coloration, this work is a fine example of the upper Bavarian genre painter who was trained at the Munich Academy.
