(1889 Berlin - 1981 Burgbrohl/Eifel) Standing female nude in profile. Beautiful, typical leaf of the versatile artist, who worked as a sculptor, draftsman, graphic artist, ceramicist, and designer. Marcks was a master at the Bauhaus in Weimar from 1919 to 1925, where he was artistic director of the Bauhaus ceramic workshop in Dornburg since 1920; from 1925 to 1933, he worked as a professor at the Burg Giebichenstein Art School in Halle/S. and from 1945 to 1950 at the State Art School in Hamburg.
