(1858 Radeburg - 1929 Berlin) "I have made myself fine". Original title: Humorous drawing of a young Berliner woman in an elegant dress and with an oversized hat. The artwork showcases Zille's extraordinary talent to capture the characteristics, peculiarities, and essence of the depicted individuals, both as individuals and as types. He achieves this by focusing solely on the essential and compressing his figure depictions. With a few soft, flowing lines and strokes, he captures the outlines and the body, complemented by a subtle, flat coloring. Charcoal drawing with colored chalk on Japan paper. On the verso, there are two estate stamps in red: "Heinrich Zille" (Rosenbach 1) and "Nachlass Prof. Heinrich Zille" (Rosenbach 4). There are traces of mounting, slight light toning, and foxing. 18.7 cm x 13.2 cm. Framed. Provenance: From the artist's estate managed by his son Walter Zille.
