In the style of Karl Fabergé, this piece is made of silver, partially gilded and enameled. It features a trumpet-shaped shaft with a relief leaf frieze on a round nephrite base. The ovoid, blue enameled and wave-shaped guilloché hinged body is adorned with rich, intricate applications in the form of cornucopias, flowers, C-scrolls, and volutes. The knob is a fully plasticized, crowned double-headed eagle with an applied ornament of relief volutes, partially set with diamond roses. Inside, there is a naturalistically crafted elephant miniature made of partially gilded silver, adorned with a ruby cabochon on a ground of green-black mottled nephrite. Created in 1888, it weighs 480g and measures 16.5cm in height. This Russian parcel-gilt and enameled silver egg is a representation of the style of Karl Fabergé. It bears the standard mark 88 and originates from Russia in the 20th century.
