(1838, 's-Hertogenbosch / Den Bosch – 1916, ibid.) Fruit Still Life with a Glass. An expertly organized composition consisting of apples and pears, a sliced apple, and a walnut, with a square stone block. A green glass goblet holds a branch laden with fruit, with scattered fillet leaves in the foreground on the ground. Executed in the finely detailed style of the Old Masters, this artwork is a natural piece from the small, well-known oeuvre of the artist, who specialized in still lifes of flowers and fruits and likely learned her skill from her father, Willem Verbeet (1801–1887). Between 1854 and 1863, she exhibited several times in 's-Hertogenbosch, Amsterdam, The Hague, and Leeuwarden. Oil paint on a mahogany panel. Signed and dated: 1856. Dimensions: 39.5 cm x 31 cm. Framed.
