(1838, 's-Hertogenbosch / Den Bosch - 1916, ibid.) Fruit still life with a glass. A skillfully organized composition consisting of apples and pears, a sliced apple and a walnut, with a square stone block. A green glass goblet with a fruit-laden branch immersed in it, scattered vine leaves in the foreground on the ground. Executed in the finely detailed style of the old masters, this work of art is a naturalistic piece from the small, well-known oeuvre of the artist, who specialized in still lifes with flowers and fruit, and likely learned the skill from her father Willem Verbeet (1801-1887). From 1854 to 1863, she exhibited several times in 's-Hertogenbosch, Amsterdam, The Hague, and Leeuwarden. Oil on mahogany panel. Signature and date: 1856. Dimensions: 39.5 cm x 31 cm. Framed.
