(1838, 's-Hertogenbosch / Den Bosch - 1916, same place) Fruit still life with a glass. A skillfully arranged composition consisting of apples and pears, a sliced apple and a walnut, with a square-shaped stone block. A green glass goblet with a branch laden with fruit immersed in it, scattered filet leaves in the foreground on the ground. Executed in the finely detailed style of the old masters, this artwork is a natural piece from the small but well-known oeuvre of the artist, who specialized in still lifes with flowers and fruit, and probably learned the skill from her father Willem Verbeet (1801-1887). From 1854 to 1863, she exhibited several times in 's-Hertogenbosch, Amsterdam, The Hague, and Leeuwarden. Oil on mahogany panel. Signature and date: 1856. Dimensions: 39.5 cm x 31 cm. In a frame.
