(1842 Munich - 1898 ibid.) View of Mindelheim with Mindelburg. A further view from a hill onto the small, picturesque old town in the Unterallgäu region of Swabia. In the background, the snow-capped mountains of the Allgäu Alps. On the left side of the painting are the town's parish church of St. Stephen, the round prison (also known as the Hunger, Sinister, or Robber Tower), and the tower of St. Sylvester's Church. On the right side of the painting is the town's landmark, the medieval Mindelburg on the Georgenberg. An atmospherically charged late Romantic painting by Feldhütter, who was a student of Julius Lange in Munich and is known for his Alpine landscapes. Oil on canvas. Signed and ambiguously dated. 49 cm x 91 cm. Framed.
