

(1858 Neutitschein – 1925 Vienna) "Magnolia in Bloom." Original title: "Festive Costume" – A lady strolls with her two daughters along the paths of a magnificent city park with a palace. This finely executed piece captures the essence of spring with its fragrant and airy atmosphere. Weit, a student of Ferdinand Laufberger, completed his studies in Paris and, since 1890, has been a member of the Künstlerhaus in Vienna. Subsequently, he taught at the renowned School of Applied Arts, where he was appointed professor in 1920. In 1896, Weit received a gold medal at the International Art Exhibition in Berlin. Watercolor and overpainting on paper, mounted on cardboard. Signed and dated 14.5.1917. The reverse side indicates the title and location – Augsburg. Sheet size: 18 cm x 25.2 cm.
