

(1884 Neustadt an der Hardt – 1957 Bad Dürkheim) Horse’s Head. Horses, riders, and equestrian sports have been a central theme in Dill’s work from the very beginning. He often attended horse races and polo games, including those in Munich and Iffezheim near Baden-Baden. From 1908 to 1914, Dill studied at the Munich Academy and was a master student of the animal painter Heinrich von Zügel. As early as 1917, Dill was represented in the Glass Palace with a large collection of paintings and drawings. From 1922 to 1930, he was a member of the Munich Secession. In 1924, he was awarded the title of professor, and in 1949 he was appointed an honorary member of the Academy of Arts in Munich. Watercolor and gouache on paper. Signed.
