

(1909 Paris – 2006 Casablanca) "On the Banks of the Seine in Paris (/) Le Matin". Original title "View of the Seine at the Institut de France". This artwork depicts a late Impressionist view of Paris, executed with rapid, broad, soft, and impasto brushstrokes in a light, pastel color palette. Anderbourg first exhibited this piece in 1937/38 at the Autumn Salon in Paris; from 1953 to 1973, he collaborated with the renowned Durand-Ruel gallery and held eleven solo exhibitions. Besides Parisian motifs, he also depicted views and landscapes from other regions of France, Italy, Spain, and Morocco. Oil on canvas; signed; on the reverse, the artist's label with the title indicated. 92 cm x 73.5 cm. Framed.
