"Shiraki: Abstraction in Red"

Born in Budapest in 1969, Shiraki actively works in Bedburg and Aachen. "Into Red [Into Blue]" is the original title of this abstract gestural figure against a deep red background reminiscent of smoldering smoke. Shiraki initially studied design in Maastricht before transitioning to sculpture. Since the mid-2000s, he has been working in his studio in Bedburg, creating sculptures primarily for public spaces and large-scale paintings, as well as concepts for light objects and other installations. This work was created using a mixed technique of oil and charcoal on canvas. It is signed and dated (19)96 on the reverse, and also bears its title. The dimensions are 120 cm x 59.5 cm. It is framed.
