Faience figurine by Kuznetsov, 1900

Original antique porcelain figurine, hand-painted, glazed, depicting a peasant cooper or barrel maker, a work of the M.S. Kuznetsov Collective Enterprise. There is a mark on the bottom: M.S. Kuznetsov, 1804, 35. Circa 1890-1900. The LLC "M.S. Kuznetsov Collective Enterprise" for the production of porcelain and faience items was one of the largest porcelain and faience enterprises in the Russian Empire at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. It was founded on September 29, 1887, by the Russian industrialist and entrepreneur from the Kuznetsov family, Matvey Sidorovich Kuznetsov, and existed until 1917, when most of the enterprises were nationalized.
