Description

Matchbox holder "Strongman." Kuznetsov in Riga, Russia, M.S. Kuznetsov in Riga, 1864 - 1880. Porcelain; biscuit, painting, luster. Marks: blue stamp "Factory of M.S. KUZNETSOV in Riga" under a double-headed eagle. Condition: in good condition, minor signs of use, small professional restoration of the upper part of the matchbox. Dimensions: height - 9.5 cm, 8 x 5.5 cm. Kuznetsov Factory in Riga (1841-1930s) - the enterprise was founded by T.Ya. Kuznetsov in 1841, and two years later the first products were released. The factory was well equipped, and in the early years produced faience tableware. Porcelain production was mastered in the early 1850s. Porcelain tableware and tea sets were produced, as well as faience ware in the Gzhel traditions. The company repeatedly received top awards at exhibitions in Riga, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Paris, Chicago, and others.
