Description

Russian porcelain group of the bitter court of the Kuznetsov factory, Dulevo, late 19th / early 20th century. Modeled as a standing peasant woman in traditional attire, holding her swaddled infant in her left arm, on a round naturalistic base, with stamped and applied marks on the base. Height 9 1/4 inches (23.5 cm). For another example of this group, see Gardner: XVIII - XIX: Porcelain Plastic Art from Private Collections and Moscow Museums (Moscow, 2002), No. 86, p. 154. Property of a private collection in Philadelphia.
