Description

"Piyaterka" by E.I. Gatilova
Dimensions: 15 x 12 x 32.5 cm

The porcelain sculpture "Piyaterka," depicting a proud schoolgirl who has received an excellent grade, is one of the characteristic examples of porcelain figurines from the "golden fund" of the Dulevo Porcelain Factory (DFZ).

This figurine was created in 1956 by Evgenia Gatilova, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation and a true classic of porcelain miniature, who worked at the factory for 35 years.

In her work, E.I. Gatilova often turned to moments from the "everyday life of ordinary people" and the theme of childhood—and her pieces are distinguished by plastic expressiveness, the ability to "capture a moment," and to embody living human emotions in porcelain.

"Piyaterka" is a rather large sculpture (height is 31 centimeters) with finely detailed elements.

It belongs to the category of restored sculptures—exact factory copies of a lost original model—and is executed with great skill. The figurine is made of hard glazed porcelain and hand-painted with underglaze paints.

At the same time, each figurine bears the stamp of the master's individuality and is essentially unique. And on the base, in addition to the official DFZ hallmark, you will find two names—that of the form's author (E.I. Gatilova) and the artist who painted the piece.
