Description

"Pyaterka" by Gatilova E.I.
Size: 15 - 12 - 32.5 cm

The porcelain sculpture "Pyaterka," depicting a schoolgirl brimming with pride who has received an excellent grade, is one of the characteristic examples of porcelain sculpture from the "golden fund" of the DFZ.

This figurine was created in 1956 by Evgenia Gatilova — a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, a true classic of porcelain miniature, who worked at the factory for 35 years.

In her work, E.I. Gatilova often turned to moments from the "ordinary life of ordinary people," to the theme of childhood — and her works are distinguished by plastic expressiveness, the ability to "stop the moment," and to embody living human emotions in porcelain.

"Pyaterka" is a fairly large sculpture (height is 31 centimeters) with finely detailed elements.

It belongs to the category of restored sculptures — exact factory copies of a lost original model — and is executed with great skill. The figurine is made of hard glazed porcelain and hand-painted with underglaze colors.

Moreover, each figurine bears the stamp of the master's individuality and is essentially unique. On the base, in addition to the official DFZ hallmark, you will find two names — the author of the form (E.I. Gatilova) and the artist who painted the work.
