"Piyaterka" (Grade A) by author Gatiilova E.I.
Size: 15 - 12 - 32.5 cm
The porcelain sculpture "Piyaterka," depicting a schoolgirl brimming with pride after receiving an excellent grade, is one of the characteristic examples of porcelain figurines from the "golden fund" of the Dulevo Porcelain Factory (DFZ).
This figurine was created in 1956 by Yevgenia Gatiilova, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation and a true classic of porcelain miniature, who worked at the factory for 35 years.
In her work, E. I. Gatiilova often turned to moments from the "ordinary lives of ordinary people" and the theme of childhood, and her pieces are distinguished by plastic expressiveness, the ability to "capture a moment," and to embody living human emotions in porcelain.
"Piyaterka" is a fairly large sculpture (height: 31 centimeters) with finely detailed features.
It belongs to the category of restored sculptures—exact factory copies of a lost original model—and is executed with great craftsmanship. The figurine is made of hard glazed porcelain and hand-painted with underglaze paints.
Moreover, each figurine bears the stamp of the master's individuality and is essentially unique. On the stand, in addition to the official DFZ hallmark, you will find two names—that of the model's author (E. I. Gatiilova) and the artist who painted the piece.
