Description

On the underside. Hemispherical shape. Ascending, blooming peony plants on the wall and in the mirror. Polychrome Kakiemon-style painting in Japanese style in blue enamel, iron-red, purple, sea green, and a little yellow, partially gilded. Manufacturer's mark: Johann Gottlieb Kühnel Sen. (active from 1732). Sword mark. Height: 4.5 cm. Compare with Rückert, Catalog of the Bavarian National Museum, figure 253; Lübke Collection, Volume II, No. 162. Porcelain cup and saucer, painted in Kakiemon style. Mark of crossed swords. Meissen. Around 1735.
