On a stone pedestal adorned with plastic leaves and floral vines, sits a black man with a garter at his waist and a headdress with colorful feathers, or an African in a flower-patterned dress and a headband. Beside it stands an oval vessel with a domed lid, featuring a flower bud in the center. The pedestal and lid bear fine embossed carving in floral compositions or a four-pass reserve within scenes of trade and hunting. Polychrome painting with golden outlines. Possibly the work of Johann Joachim Kändler and Johann Friedrich Eberlein. Minor restoration; crossed swords mark. Height 17 cm. A pair of porcelain figures of black men with a spice lid. Minor restoration. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1750.
