Description

A blooming pedestal in the Rocaille style; on it sits a wet nurse in a purple dress with a black headscarf, a baby in a magnificent, colorful outfit on her lap. Next to her, on a green upholstered stool, sits a girl holding a whistle-rattle in her left hand. Polychrome painting with gold decoration. Possibly attributed to Johann Joachim Kändler, circa 1755. Minor restoration intervention; marked with the "crossed swords" hallmark. Height 17 cm. Compare with the work from the Rückert collection, Bavarian catalog, National Museum, number 1025. Porcelain group of figurines depicting a nurse with two children. Slightly restored. Marked with the "crossed swords" hallmark. Meissen. Circa 1755–1760.
