Description

Group of figures "Allegory of Music" made of bronze. Wood. Rectangular curved base with rocaille decor and dragon-shaped plastic legs. The veneered wooden plate features a crane motif in Japanese lacquer painting. At the top are a vase-shaped watering can and an inkwell stand, as well as the central Meissen group of figures "Allegory of Music," depicting a young woman in antique style wearing a white dress and a delicate yellow Indian shawl with a floral pattern. At her feet sits a putto. Possibly made by J.J. Kändler. On the reverse side, branching vines transition into the shape of tulip leaves with a tray for candles adorned with large porcelain flowers. The figure is indistinct, restored; sword mark. Height of the figure: 15.5 cm. Overall height: 19 cm. 26 cm x 20 cm. Bronze writing set with a Meissen porcelain figure "Allegory of Music." Slightly restored. Crossed swords. Meissen. Mid-18th century.
