Art Deco wall plate

Majolica. Round, flat coupé form. Decorated in polychrome painting depicting a standing putto with an apple and laurel branch, surrounded by stars, with a girdle around the edge. Marked "MOLARONI PESARO". Diameter 27.2 cm. Stylistically, the plate can be attributed to the Italian variant of Art Déco known as "Novecento", whose most significant designer was Gio Ponti.
