(Active in the second half of the 18th century) Allegory of Architecture and Sculpture, resting on clouds, two allegories: Architecture (with a column base, set square, compass, floor plans, and two volumes of Vitruvius and Palladio as attributes) and Sculpture (with a hammer, sculptor’s head, bust, and male marble torso). The composition, painted in bright and picturesque colors under the influence of Italian art, combines an allegorical depiction of the fine arts with young female beauties, who, thanks to their exposed right breasts and pearl necklaces, also acquire an erotic note, as was characteristic of the 18th century. Oil on canvas; 100 cm x 84 cm. In a frame. French artist, active in the second half of the 18th century; oil on canvas.
