This is an exquisite cabinet painting by a Munich artist who studied under Wilhelm von Diez and was the son of the hunting motif painter and copper engraver Adrian Schleich (1812–1894). He is considered one of the most sought-after landscape painters of the Munich School of the 19th century. Paintings by this artist can be found in many major collections, including the Neue Pinakothek in Munich. Oil on mahogany. Signed and marked Munich.
