(1836 Schrobenhausen - 1904 Munich), attributed; Portrait of a Young Lady. A sensitive and characteristic portrait study, in which the color tone of the drawing cardboard influences the visual effect, with color applied only to the raised areas. This is a characteristic technique of Lenbach, who was educated at the Munich Academy under Karl Theodor von Piloty and became a sought-after portraitist of the nobility, bourgeoisie, and prominent figures in politics, society, science, and culture from 1868 onwards. Charcoal and chalk over pencil on cardboard. On the reverse side marked "Lady Curzon (/) Franz von Lenbach 1888" and with an exhibition number. 30.8 cm x 30.4 cm. In a frame.
